This full-time, tenure track faculty position in the Social Work Program at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls is at the rank of Assistant Professor. The teaching load is 12 credits per semester. As this is a small program, flexibility in the ability to teach a variety of courses is expected. Compensation is based upon qualifications, including both education and experience.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • 70% – Teach a variety of courses in BSW curriculum suited to experience and expertise, including supervising a portion of field placements as Faculty Liaison and facilitating/teaching weekly SOWK 472 Field Instruction sessions.
  • 15% – Engage in research, scholarly, or creative activity that supports University programs.
  • 15% – Actively participate in committee work, advise students and mentor undergraduate research and creative activities, seek professional development, and provide service to external stakeholders.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • An MSW from a CSWE-accredited program is required.
  • A doctorate in social work or related field is required.
  • At least 2 years post MSW full time experience in professional social work practice is required.
  • ACSW eligibility is required.
  • Demonstrated teaching experience in higher education is required.
  • Flexibility to teach all courses in BSW curriculum is required.
  • Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to diverse populations and ability to contribute to the University’s commitments to inclusivity, equity, and social justice is required.

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A doctorate in social work is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability teaching BSW students with a variety of learner focused methodologies, reflecting high impact teaching practice
  • Utilization of technology that enhances teaching and learning is preferred.
  • Post-MSW licensure is preferred.
