JOB DESCRIPTION

The Facilities department at the University of Indianapolis seeks applications for a General Maintenance Technician. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position. The individual must be service oriented and have a general knowledge of building maintenance (carpentry, electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems). This position responds to work orders on a tablet within the work order system.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• This is an essential staff position that may be required to report to work when the university is closed or during inclement weather when a state-of-emergency has been declared.
• This position is part on the on-call rotation and will have to help with snow removal if needed.
• This employee will work with all trades to assist with work orders or projects as needed. Employee will be working on the general work orders such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, and hanging pictures.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of one year of experience in building maintenance
• High School diploma or GED required
• Valid driver's license is required
• This role requires a clean or acceptable driving record
• Ability to safely lift 85 pounds
• Ability to pass a physical, lift and drug test is required
