Student Affairs Job Description
Job Summary
Serve as program coordinator for the Dean of Students, the Associate Dean of Students, Assistant Dean of Students, and the offices within Student Affairs. Coordinate the administrative functions for key student programs such as the Student Conduct Board and the First Year Experience. Manage the central office function including supervision of administrative assistant staff; oversight of Student Affairs publications including websites; management of assigned budgets; maintenance of confidentiality regarding student and institutional records.
Take appropriate actions to support a diverse workforce and participate in the College's efforts to create a respectful, inclusive, and welcoming work environment.
Essential Functions
Program Support (35%):
Provide coordination and administrative support for programs and events in the Dean of Students Office and Student Affairs (e.g. trainings, orientation, transfer student programs, family weekend.) Manage all administrative aspects of the Student Conduct Board: scheduling, correspondence, Conduct Board records and website in accordance with college policies and federal regulations for confidentiality and record management. Coordinate student CORI/SORI verification process for student community initiatives. Additional program initiatives as needed.
Financial and Publications Support (35%):
Oversee and manage budgets assigned to the Dean of Students’ office including tracking expenses, initiating bill payments and coordinating with other campus offices where necessary; ensure regular updates to budget managers. In collaboration with the administrative assistant staff, monitor other Student Affairs budgets as needed. Support the development, revision and distribution of student affairs publications in print and on the college website.
Office Management and Administrative Support (30%):
Manage the day-to-day operations of the Dean of Students Office and Student Affairs; supervise administrative assistant staff, reception, and student workers; and oversee the assignments and effective completion of a wide range of tasks and projects. Coordinate and maintain calendars and schedule meetings for the Dean of Students Office and Student Affairs; prepare correspondence and written materials; field questions and provide independent problem solving, referring situations to appropriate college staff/offices where necessary.

Minimum Qualifications (knowledge, skills, education, experience, certifications, licenses)
Associate's degree and 3-5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Skills
Ability to organize and prioritize work with an eye on the larger scope of the Student Affairs function; manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously; take initiative; resolve problems independently using good judgment, and work effectively with others in a collaborative environment. Have excellent verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to be discreet and maintain confidentiality. Have the ability to communicate with all levels of student affairs departments, the college, and outside constituents; handle financial data accurately; coordinate schedules and events efficiently; and to work with social media platforms, Microsoft Office software, and Banner/WorkdDay (or similar products) effectively. Have a strong command of technology and how it can increase efficiency. Have a good sense of humor and the ability to manage and work with a variety of personality types and work styles. Proven experience working with diverse constituencies. A commitment to the core values of the college and the division.
