Job Description:

The Department of Anesthesiology is seeking candidates for a Manager for Health Care Administration to manage the daily operations of the UF Health Halifax Anesthesiology program. Responsible for assisting the Director in evaluating current clinical operations and manages the financial, staffing, and human resource initiatives. Develops, implements, evaluates, and communicates business plans and ensures they are operationalized and aligned with the program’s strategic goals. Establishes and manages regular analytical reports designed to monitor clinical operations and prospectively inform decision makers in a dynamic healthcare environment. Serves as a liaison between the UF Health Department of Anesthesiology and Halifax teams.

Essential responsibilities to include:

Primary responsibility to manage all day-to-day operational aspects of Anesthesiology at Halifax. Serves as a link between leadership and staff by interpreting and administering policies and procedures and resolving operational issues. Advises clinical staff regarding university policies and procedures. Manages and resolves problems referred by staff, facility issues, and other concerns. Manages and resolves problems referred by staff, facility issues, and other concerns. Works with the Medical Director, Chair, and Halifax executives to develop, implement, evaluate, and communicate business plans and ensure they are operationalized and aligned with the programs strategic goals. Establishes and manages regular analytical reports designed to monitor clinical operations and prospectively inform decision makers in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Liaises between UF COM, Department of Anesthesiology, Halifax Health, and local anesthesiology division to facilitate recruitment of anesthesiology personnel for Halifax Hospital, Port Orange Medical Center, Twin Lakes Surgical Center, and Deltona Hospital. Creates and modifies interview schedules, escorts applicants, collects evaluations, and other items associated with recruitment. Onboards all new anesthesiology personnel including credentialing, IT enrollment, fobs, clinical protocols, scheduling software, tours, and other items. Addresses all needs regarding communications between employees (email account, cell phones, phone lists, call schedules, etc.)

Assures that all personnel are paid in a timely manner for regular pay along with additional duty pay in coordination with the Medical Director. Tracks leave and ensures proper reporting into Peoplesoft. Reconciles monthly payouts against electronic scheduling system and provides timely reports to the Medical Director and Chair.

Prepares groundwork in conjunction with leadership for development of a pain practice by UF physicians at the Port Orange Hospital

Coordinates to maximize billing in a timely manner with the UF COM faculty group practice billing office. Works with UF Department HR to assure correct billing for any locums employees who may work for UF in the Halifax system.

Works to liaise with educational facilities to allow adult learners to learn in the Department for organizations such as CRNA schools, Department of Defense, and others.

Expected Salary:

$59,000 - $86,000

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • Ability to develop and follow protocols and procedures properly & efficiently
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Proficiency in use of computer technology, spreadsheets and data management
  • Analytical problem-solving abilities with people and processes
