About the Opportunity:
The primary functions of this role are to conceptualize, design, develop and maintain database-driven websites and content management systems for multiple research projects at Northeastern University. The secondary roles include basic interaction with Unix-based/cloud platforms and other duties as required by the projects supported by the National Institutes of Health and research foundations.

Responsibilities:
The position is expected to support research environment and information infrastructure for the Center for Critical Assessment of Genome Interpretation (NIH award: U24 HG007346) and Global.health (a COVID-19 big data initiative funded by Google.Org and the Rockefeller Foundation). This job operates in a professional academic environment and includes standard use of office equipment such as computers and phones.

Qualifications:
Education: BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering or an equivalent field.

Skills: Multi-year experience as a Python developer, with prior work developing content management systems, expertise in at least one popular Python web framework (e.g., Django), comfort with front-end languages/libraries (e.g., JavaScript, React/Redux, Sass, D3, and HTML/CSS); understanding and working experience with databases, cloud computing, and virtual machines. Alternatively, expertise with in commonly used for non-Python web frameworks (e.g., Drupal or Ruby on Rails) is acceptable. Understanding of model-to-data computing technologies (container platforms) is a benefit. Ability to prioritize and manage up to three concurrent projects.
