Data Services Librarian, Librarian Assistant Professor, Library System

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a twelve-month, non-tenure track Librarian Assistant Professor faculty position, beginning July 1, 2021.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

Librarianship (85 %)

 

  • Help to update, maintain, and troubleshoot library online systems in partnership with other members of the systems team.
  • Serve as an undergraduate faculty liaison. Perform subject specific professional work including faculty outreach and collection development.
  • Provide research assistance (in person, via chat, or other communication modes) to students and other members of the KSU community.
  • Create and provide data to KSU stakeholders in support of accreditation and institutional reporting needs.
  • Advance and deliver data services for KSU faculty and staff involved in data-intensive research projects.

 

Service (10%)

 

  • Engage in KSU Library System service, KSU University service, and/or service to the library profession.

 

Scholarship (5%)

 

  • Participate in scholarship, research, and/or creative activity. Contribute to the development of the library profession and/or subject-specific discipline through scholarship, presentations, and publications.

 

Required qualifications include:

 

  • An earned Master’s in Library Science from an American Library Association accredited program, or the foreign equivalent is required.
  • Aptitude to meet library faculty standards for job performance, scholarship, service, and professional development at the Library Assistant Professor rank.
  • Experience generating reports in Excel or other reporting software
  • Willingness to learn new statistical analysis tools or other relevant tools as needed
  • Experience in libraries or customer service-oriented role.

 

Preferred qualifications include:

 

  • Experience with ExLibris Alma Analytics.
  • Experience with data management applications, such as SAS or SPSS.
  • Experience working with SQL.
  • Experience in an academic library.
  • Experience working in information technology support.
  • Experience with data discovery and data research support.
  • Alma Administrator Certification.
  • Evidence of scholarship/creative activities.
  • Evidence of service to the library profession.
  • Evidence of working with a culturally and an ethnically diverse community.
