The Institute for Insight at Robinson College of Business (RCB) of Georgia State University (GSU) invites applications for one tenure track faculty in data science and analytics at assistant professor level, effective Fall 2021 or earlier.  We seek applicants with research interests in the use of natural language processing, machine learning, deep learning, image analytics and related fields and a keen interest in large scale application of AI tools to address business problems.

Applicants should have expertise in supporting the RCB’s strategic goal of becoming one of the few leading business schools at the forefront of transforming business education and research through data science and AI. Successful candidates will contribute toward the College’s multi-year and multi-disciplinary strategy for developing a significant data science and analytics research program with strong links to industry, including, but not limited to, work with the Institute’s labs and applied research projects.

Minimum requirements are an earned Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or related fields from an accredited university or international equivalent, and a strong research program in data science and analytics. Successful candidates will have a strong trajectory of future publications in widely regarded premier journals in business and related disciplines. Ideal candidates will also have teaching capabilities to teach courses in the College’s MS in Data Science and Analytics, the college’s PhD and other related programs. Candidates will have the opportunities to interact with different companies in the metro Atlanta area.

The successful candidate’s home will be in the Institute for Insight that was established in 2015 at the Robinson College of Business. The Institute pursues new interdisciplinary areas of research investigating how the computing and digital capabilities of the future can transform business and society. By bringing its core computer science, statistics, and engineering faculty researchers together with management, legal and social science scholars, the Institute seeks to be a trusted resource assisting strategic partners creatively design implementable strategies that solve real-world challenges and drive positive business valuation. Opportunities for conducting research are excellent with many similarly interested colleagues in college’s departments such as Finance, Marketing, Risk Management, and Health Administration along with our innovative labs in FinTech and Blockchain, Legal Analytics, Social Media Intelligence, Supply Chain, and Healthcare Analytics. Faculty, research scientists and other affiliated members in these labs work closely with business partners on innovative and frontier research. ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT

GSU is a leading urban research university located in the heart of Atlanta. With more than 8,000 students and more than 200 faculty members, RCB is one of the largest and most diverse business schools in the country. The college houses the Department of Computer Information Systems and Department of Risk Management and Insurance, both of which have top-10 rankings, and Robinson’s Marketing Department ranks 4th in Modeling and Quantitative Analysis in scholarly research productivity. Robinson has active research programs in the management of information technology, predictive risk analytics, marketing analytics and health IT and analytics that are relevant to this position.
