Job Summary
Lead and manage a comprehensive Intramural Sports program that offers over 32 intramural sport programs and serves over 5,000 participants annually, and a comprehensive Club Sports program that offers over 25 Club Sport programs and has over 300 Club Sport athletes.

Responsibilities
  • Perform related duties as assigned to support the mission of the University
  • Assist with department and/or facility special events
  • Maintain industry standards
  • Serve on University and departmental work teams and committees
  • Mentor and advise over 60 student volunteer club sport officers
  • Recruit, hire, train, develop, and supervise 120-150 student staff including graduate assistant(s), program assistant(s), supervisors, scorekeepers, and officials
  • Develop, implement, supervise, and evaluate creation and marketing of team and individual activities, competition scheduling, registration procedures, event planning
  • Represent department at state, regional, and/or national industry sporting events
  • Purchase and maintain intramural sports equipment and inventory
  • Manage facilities related to program area
  • Foster community and campus partnerships including academic groups in support of the Intramural Sports Program
  • Review and enforce policies and procedures
  • Maintain and utilize risk management best practices

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in recreation, management, or related field

Required Experience
  • One or more years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Membership and active participant in NIRSA
  • CPR/AED FA Instructor certified
  • Active football, basketball, soccer, baseball, or softball official

Preferred Educational Qualifications
  • Master's Degree

Preferred Experience
  • Experience within a University setting
  • Experience planning and hosting large scale events
  • Experience working or coordinating with state, regional, or national sporting events and/or governing bodies
  • Supervisory experience

Proposed Salary
$36,500 - $39,000
