Job Description:
The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Program Advisor/Recruiter will work with the BBA Faculty Director, Department of Management, College of Business and University staff to develop and operationalize recruitment and retention strategies. In addition, the candidate will provide advising to BBA students from initial inquiry stage through graduation.
  • Provide program advising and career/major advising as well as information about university transfer admissions & program specific requirements; particularly with non-traditional, adult and prospective transfer students.
  • Collaborate with Registration and Academic Records, Academic Affairs, Student Financial Services and other college and campus staff to develop plans for implementation of University policies and business practices affecting students in the BBA program.
  • Act as subject matter expert (SME) for the curriculum, program structure and industry knowledge of degree value.
  • Inspire and motivate students to ensure online course attendance and to ensure program retention.
  • Identify, maintain, and grow relationships with the Minnesota State two-year college advisors, counselors, faculty and other staff to meet marketing, recruiting and advising needs.
  • Collaborate with the College of Business Marketing team and University Integrated Marketing to manage and coordinate promotional materials necessary for recruitment
  • Coordinate and/or assist with events related to university distance education such as open houses, orientation, and registration for online BBA students in collaboration with other University staff.

  • Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree (conferred on an official transcript at the time of application.)
  • Minimum of one-year experience in student/client recruitment, outreach, marketing and customer service activities.
  • Minimum of one-year experience in student/client retention activities including advising and mentoring/coaching in higher education or professional settings.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with technologies and processes to support remote communication and collaboration in a fast-paced environment.
  • Project management experience that required research and analysis skills, strong attention to detail and performance outcomes.
  • Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Office 365) and the ability to query and manage data from web, database and other sources.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
  • Master’s degree.
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) technologies and processes.
  • Experience designing instruction, onboarding or training tools.
  • Experience in reviewing and evaluating student records, degree audits and transcripts.
  • Experience with learning management (e.g., D2L), and other technologies used in student learning and instruction in higher education
  • Familiarity with higher education trends, especially adult learners.

Bachelor of Business Administration

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) is housed in the Management Department in the AACSB-accredited College of Business. The 100% online BBA program launched in 2019 and is growing quickly. The BBA faculty members have expertise in online instruction and represent fields including Management, Marketing, International Business and Finance. The BBA program is designed for adult learners who have completed an Associate of Science Business degree or who are seeking a 100% online undergraduate business degree.
