Summary: Visiting Professor of Public Health with a preferred specialization in Epidemiology; full-time, 12-month/36-credit teaching only. This visiting line position, renewable up to three consecutive years, and will begin in Fall 2021.

Responsibilities – Essential Functions:

  • This position is in the Department of Public Health program within the College of Health Professions.
  • Teach graduate-level courses in public health in the Epidemiology emphasis area
  • Mentor students in master’s level research projects

Required Qualifications and Education:

  • The successful applicant will have a terminal degree, demonstrated commitment to graduate education (curriculum development and teaching excellence), and mentorship of faculty and students
  • Scholarship through publication and experience with funded research preferred
  • The selected applicant will have a commitment to service within the University, profession, and community and the ability to contribute to a positive work environment in the College and University.

College and Department/Division:  The Department of Public Health accredited through the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) and is housed within the College of Health Professions at Grand Valley State University. We are located in the rapidly expanding health care corridor of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Opportunities exist for collaboration with faculty from other programs within the University, as well as health professionals from community institutions, including the Van Andel Research Institute, Spectrum Health, Mercy Health Saint Mary’s, Metro Health, and Michigan State University College of Human Medicine.

Salary:  Commensurate with experience.
