Lecturer in Communication and Debate Coach
The Department of Rhetoric and Public Address at Hillsdale College invites applications for a full-time, non-tenured lecturer/coach position, beginning August 2021. This is an annual contract with presumption of renewal. Evidence of a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and coaching is a must. The Department is seeking a communication generalist, with a grounding in rhetoric and significant interest and experience in organizational communication, argumentation, or a similar sub-discipline. To be considered, candidates must have a Master’s degree in Communication or a related discipline and experience coaching collegiate Debate, preferably in multiple formats. Experience in collegiate forensics (Individual Events) is beneficial. In addition to coaching duties, candidates should expect to teach three courses annually (2/1) with an average class size of 20 students. Hillsdale College seeks educators who place teaching/coaching first, in balance with research and service.
