Nathan Weiss Graduate College

Ph.D. Program (Assistant/Associate Professor) – to teach Ph.D. research-related courses through dissertation supervision and completion; review curriculum and make revisions; teach selected courses in the MSN programs; and conduct scholarly research and publish in peer-reviewed national and international journals. This position is for an expert in qualitative and quantitative research design principles, project development, implementation and evaluation. Particular areas of focus include faculty role innovation and learning outcomes measurements with a focus on health and education issues, problems and settings. This position is based at the Union campus but may have additional responsibilities at Kean Ocean.

Qualifications: Doctorate degree; current Registered Nurse license or full qualifications to obtain licensure in the State of New Jersey by September 1, 2021; teaching experience in higher education; and a documented track record of peer-reviewed publications is required. At least five years of experience teaching in higher education, with the ability to teach curriculum principles, concepts, values and approaches to graduate and doctoral candidates is preferred. Out-of-state licensed applicants must apply and receive a New Jersey RN license through reciprocity/endorsement by September 1, 2021.

This is a ten-month, full-time, tenure-track assignment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, effective for the Fall 2021 semester. Teaching assignments and related responsibilities may include day, evening, weekend and online courses. Courses may be taught at the Union campus, Kean Ocean, Kean Skylands or other locations. Faculty positions located in the Nathan Weiss Graduate College may require evening hours for graduate course assignments.

All tenure-track faculty are expected to demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence and an on-going program of research and publication or creative and performance activity. Participation in curriculum development, student advisement and service at the departmental/school, college, university and community level is also required. Interest or experience in using advanced instructional technologies to improve the teaching/learning process is highly desirable. Proficiency in the Learning Management System, Blackboard and Online Learning Pedagogy is required, consistent with University guidelines. Kean may offer free voluntary Blackboard workshops to otherwise qualified applicants.
