ASSOCIATE DEAN OF GRADUATE COUNSELING AND LEADERSHIP

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:
Reporting to the Dean of the School of Education, the Associate Dean of Graduate Counseling and Leadership oversees our counseling, non-profit leadership, and educational administration graduate programs, participating in governance within the School of Education (SOE) and the larger university. In addition, this position serves as the School of Education Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, leading our DEI efforts. Working with program directors and coordinators, this position provides leadership and support for our graduate Marriage and Family Therapy, School Counseling, Social Emotional Learning, Administrative and Non-Profit Leadership, and Educational Admin programs, including budget management, resource advocacy, and faculty development and support. The Associate Dean of Graduate Counseling and Leadership also supervises staff in assigned programs. In addition, this position also oversees the development and management of SOE doctoral programs. Finally, the Associate Dean of Graduate Counseling and Leadership also carries teaching responsibilities within assigned programs up to 15 credits per academic year. This is a tenure-eligible position.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Terminal degree from an accredited college or university in a related field (i.e., Education, Psychology, Educational Administration, Leadership, etc.).

Experience: Three (3) years of experience working in higher education as faculty and / or administration; demonstrated commitment to establishing positive working relationships with diverse groups of people and constituencies; experience working with college or university graduate programs.

Licenses or Certifications: None required, licensure as a teacher or educational leader preferred.
