Job Description or Duties

Teach human development, experimental child psychology, adolescent psychology, adult development and aging, general psychology and contribute to the core courses in psychology including those related to research methodology. Direct the gerontology minor which includes overseeing student practicum experiences. Support interdisciplinary programs including the online M.S. in Long-Term Care Management.  Develop courses in your area of interest that complement the psychology program.  Pursue scholarly projects relevant to departmental and institutional missions. These include developing an active research program and providing departmental and institutional service on committees. Normal teaching load is 12 hours per semester; research-active faculty normally receive a 3-hour per semester reduction in teaching.

Required Qualifications:              

Ph.D. in Psychology with a focus in developmental psychology completed at the time of appointment; evidence of ability to effectively teach undergraduate students; and evidence of ability to establish an independent research program that involves undergraduate students.

Preferred Qualifications:             

College/University teaching experience; evidence of a research program in adulthood and aging or related field; ability to seek external funding; experience teaching online; and evidence of ability to contribute to department service.
