The David Crawford School of Engineering at Norwich University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering beginning July 2021. The successful applicant will have primary expertise in Computer Architecture and Operating Systems, with an ability to teach in the following subject areas: computer architectures, operating systems, networking, embedded systems, digital systems, networking, and other foundational courses in electrical engineering as needed. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach a broad range of subject areas, who can identify opportunities in curriculum development, who can develop and teach both lecture and laboratory courses, and who can advise student design projects.
Responsibilities include teaching the theory and practice of electrical and computer engineering with emphasis on computer engineering to undergraduate students, supervising student projects, advising students, serving on department, college, and university committees, enhancing laboratory facilities, or other related duties. Professional development including research or other creative achievement is expected, and resources are available to encourage participation in scholarly endeavors.
Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer
Engineering, or closely related fields.
Expertise in one or more of the following areas: Computer
Architecture to include networked systems, Computer Operating
Systems, and Embedded Systems.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, scholarship, and
advising.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated effective teaching experience.
Hands-on experience in a laboratory environment.
Relevant industrial and practical experience.
Experience with student interaction with, and soliciting projects
from, industry contacts.
Professional registration.
