Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Prescott, Arizona campus is hiring a Chief Business Officer to join the Business Department. Embry-Riddle's Prescott Campus is respected worldwide for cutting-edge instruction and training for tomorrow’s aviation, aerospace, security and intelligence leaders. Prescott is a mile-high city and its climate reflects seasonable weather excellent for flying. Daytime averages are 80°F in the summer and 45°F in the winter. At 5,000 ft. above sea level, it boasts a mild climate, clean air, pristine wilderness areas, and nearby national forests. The university is a small, private, residential university in the mountains of Arizona with approximately 3,500 students. Staff/faculty/student interaction is highly valued and is a central theme of our campus. It is located 100 miles north of Phoenix and 120 miles south of the Grand Canyon.

Qualifications
A Masters Degree or higher is not required, however a graduate degree in accounting, finance or business may replace some of the required years of work experience. Real world / practical experience in operations, construction, business and finance is a must . It would be a mistake to assume that a graduate degree could replace work related experience.

Job Functions or Duties:
- Responsible for the overall management of the business, fiscal
and physical plant functions on the Prescott Campus, for ensuring
effective day-to-day campus business operations and for serving as
the primary contact for external constituencies in all business and
financial matters.
- Responsible for contracts, construction projects, campus budget
and support services. Departments and functions within the Business
Office include: Accounting, Barbershop, Bookstore, Campus Budget,
Cashiers, Contracts, Copy Center, Campus Safety, Food Service, Mail
Services, Material Management & Logistics,
Plant-Facilities-Custodial, projects/construction, rental
properties, and shipping/receiving.
- Responsible for decisions related to risk, financial, and
operational. Provide stewardship for the future of the campus; from
safe conditions on campus, to maintenance of buildings, vehicles,
infrastructure, landscaping, etc. Ensure support services meet the
needs of students, faculty, staff and visitors to campus.
- Responsible for coordinating and management of the campus
budget, as well as specific departments & cost centers within
the campus budget. This includes working with University
Administration to ensure that campus fiscal process and university
fiscal process mutually support each other. Provide budget
reporting and ongoing management of campus revenue and expense.
Work with budget managers in managing budgets for all units on
campus. Identification of revenue opportunities and expense
reduction initiatives. Construct business cases and conduct
financial analysis in support of decision making, program reviews
and new initiatives.
- Responsible for all campus projects, ranging from construction,
remodels, maintenance, repairs and razing buildings, campus
infrastructure and landscaping.
- Responsible for campus capital spending, setting priorities in
collaboration with campus leadership, and overseas planning related
to implementation and spending of capital resources.
- Responsible for all ‘non-personnel’ related contracts. This
includes negotiation and administration of contracts and leases for
events, medical doctors, rentals, summer camps, helicopter
training, food service, vending, equipment, motorcycle training and
many other support services on campus.
Secondary Job Functions or Duties:
- Ensures administrative support in the office meets the needs of
the Chancellor.
- Provides support and pertinent input to the Chancellor on
general issues related to campus growth, development and
operations. Serves as a senior member of the Campus Leadership
Council.
- Provide cross campus coordination for initiatives related to
budget, facilities and planning.
- Supports Assessment and support to Chancellor with Strategic
Planning.

Qualifications
- Bachelors degree.
- Incumbent should be bonded/bondable.
- Minimum of 10 years related work experience.
- Analytical skills with an in depth knowledge of information
systems and technical expertise with Microsoft operating systems,
Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook/email, and Internet
end-user applications.
- Must be a self starter, excellent organizational and time
management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple and diverse functions
simultaneously, manage personnel effectively, and negotiate and
administer contracts.
- Experience working in Higher Education.
