Position Summary:
The University of Idaho (UI) is seeking a talented and dynamic educator and researcher to join the UI-WWAMI Medical Education Program with research and teaching interests in the areas of neurobiology and neuroscience. Job duties consist of:
- Leading the Mind, Brain and Behavior block of curriculum for medical students.
- Assisting with teaching in other aspects of the curriculum related to physiology, signaling and related topics.
- Working to organize faculty, clinicians and patients to provide medical education.
- Assisting with research, academic service and assessment functions within the WWAMI medical education program.
This is a 9-month academic year appointment with the rank of Assistant Professor. UI-WWAMI (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, Idaho) Medical Education Program is the University of Washington School of Medicine’s regional foundation site teaching first and second year medical students on the University of Idaho campus in Moscow, Idaho.
Minimum Qualifications:
• PhD, DAT, EdD or other relevant terminal degree related to the field of neuroscience or the terminal degree and relevant work experience.
• Evidence of excellence in teaching at a University level.
• Ability to succeed as a team player in a diverse working environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• A strong research record in neuroscience or a related field.
• Experience teaching neuroscience.
• Experience teaching medical courses.
• Success at acquiring external funding to support research and educational activities.
