Job Duties:
The Program/Financial Assistant for the Athens State University In-Service Center is a staff member of the Regional In-Service Center (REIC), a department of the Athens State University College of Education. The Program/Financial Assistant's primary responsibilities include expense recording, reconciliation, and reporting on all budgets associated with programs under the auspices of the Regional In-Service Center. Additionally, the Program/Financial Assistant is responsible for assisting the Director of the Regional In-Service Center in the organization, implementation, and record keeping of all professional learning activities associated with such programs.

DUTIES:
  • Assist with planning and implementation of professional learning sessions/trainings
  • Assist with the creation and management of professional learning courses/sections in the ALSDE Professional Learning System
  • Collect and compile workshop/consultant evaluation information and maintain workshop records
  • Communicate effectively with regional public-school administrators, teachers, and SDE personnel
  • Assist in the compilation of data and preparation of reports, including quarterly and annual grant budget financial reports and annual professional learning needs assessments
  • Process paperwork for all: purchase orders; expense invoices/receipts; substitute teacher reimbursements: consultant contracts and payments; and staff travel
  • Maintain open communication with the Business Office to remain current on policies/procedures and to expedite reconciliation of budget issues
  • Assist with Regional In-Service Center Governing Board Meetings
  • Manage the use of facilities and off-site meeting rooms for In-Service, Regional, and ALSDE events including AV, catering, maintenance, and other outside items on an as needed basis
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the In-Service Center Director


    Required Qualifications:
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • High School diploma or its equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a business related field preferred
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Excel and Word) required
    • Bookkeeping and financial reporting experience required
    • Experience with Google applications preferred
    • Current driver license and acceptable driving record required

    OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Knowledge of and ability to use various social media platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook).
    • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
    • Organized, flexible, and creative problem solver


    Salary Schedule:
    $27,129-$45,532. Salary will be based on qualifications, and experience. Benefits available as appropriate for sponsored programs. Future employment is contingent upon Regional In-Service Center funding.
