The School of Education at Manhattanville College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor for the Doctoral Program in Education Leadership. The ideal candidate will be committed to quality teaching, research, and service to the institution, program, profession, and community. In addition, candidates must exhibit an eagerness and ability to help grow graduate enrollment for these programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach doctoral courses in Educational Leadership Doctoral Program, including quantitative research courses 
  • Advise doctoral students and supervise dissertations
  • Work collaboratively with the doctoral team to recruit, admit, advise, and monitor students' progress in the doctoral program
  • Work with the faculty to ensure students' completion of a capstone experience
  • Participate in all doctoral and school-wide meetings and events
  • Engage in service activities at program, department, school, college, and professional levels
  • Develop and maintain an active research agenda that makes significant contributions to the field of education leadership

Required Qualifications:

  • Earned Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership or related area
  • Practitioner experience in K-12 and/or higher education
  • Demonstrated success teaching at the graduate level across various platforms (e.g., online, hybrid)
  • Expertise in teaching quantitative research
  • Evidence of experience chairing or serving on dissertation committees and shepherding students through the dissertation process, including demonstrated success in mentoring and coaching students to improve their writing skills
  • Evidence of current and past scholarship germane to educational leadership
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to communicate effectively with diverse constituencies, including students, faculty, administrators, and external parties
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a high functioning team
  • Demonstrates flexibility and commitment to common goals

Preferred:

  • Experience developing online courses
  • High level of problem solving and decision-making abilities to respond to student issues and concerns, evaluate students for retention, assess student work and abilities, and facilitate the doctoral learning experience
  • Commitment to education for social justice, democratic, and inclusive practice
