The School of Education at Manhattanville College invites applications for a faculty member at the Visiting Assistant Professor level (non-tenure track) with a specialty in TESOL/Foreign Languages/Bilingual Education. The ideal candidate will be committed to quality teaching, research, and service to the institution, program, profession, and community. In addition, candidates must exhibit an eagerness and ability to help grow graduate enrollment for these programs.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses in language teaching methodology and assessment
- Supervise students/supervise teachers in TESOL and World Languages
- Do Program Reviews for CAEP accreditation for TESOL and World Languages
- Recruit students in the area of language teaching (especially world languages)
Required Qualifications
Manhattanville College seeks an active, culturally and academically diverse faculty member.
Applicants should have an earned doctoral degree in Language Education or a related field. A record of excellence in teaching is strongly desired. The successful candidate must show a record of: (a) experience teaching at an institution of higher education, (b) experience working with accreditation in teacher education, (c) evidence of scholarship, (d) experience teaching languages in P-12 schools, (e) certification in TESOL, bilingual education and/or World Languages, (f) fluent in English and at least one World Language and (g) commitment to institutional priorities that affirm the value of diversity.
