Visiting Assistant Professor in Promotional Communication
The School of Communication at Cleveland State University seeks
applicants for a full time Visiting Assistant Professor with an
emphasis in Promotional Communication. The appointment will begin
on Aug. 16, 2021. The position is renewable up to three years with
satisfactory performance. The successful candidate will teach four
courses per semester in the promotional communication sequence,
including the capstone course.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include the completion of all requirements
for the Ph.D. in Mass Communication or related fields by July 1,
2021 for appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor; ABDs will be
considered for appointment as an Instructor. Ability to teach the
promotional communication capstone course. Must have professional
experience in the field of public relations, corporate
communications or strategic communications.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates should have professional experience in or be able to
teach courses in digital content creation using applications such
as Adobe Creative Cloud. Should have the ability to teach a
combination of courses in promotional communication, such as
writing for public relations, introduction to public relations,
introduction to social media, strategic communication campaigns,
publication design and media analytics. The successful candidate
will contribute to CSU’s commitment to diversity and mission as an
