Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The purpose of this job is to coordinate the logistics and services of media requests that the College Relations office receives surrounding video production and digital design. The Coordinator II, Multimedia will interact with faculty and staff to ensure that their video and graphic production needs are adequately met, while keeping a smooth workflow within the College Relations department. They will help map solutions to graphic design needs that arise, while producing top notch media for clientele within the assigned LSC campus .

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Interact with faculty and staff to offer and map solutions to resolve problems and issues in graphic design and instructional development. Often, this includes meeting personally with the client to find a working solution
  2. Assist with day to day requests for graphic design and production in the instructional environment
  3. Produce multimedia for a variety of customers including faculty and staff. When filming on a location, this includes but is not limited to setting up the lighting, setting up multiple cameras, setting up audio recording equipment, and working with client to understand what will work best for the video
  4. Promote Lone Star College through high quality photography and digital illustrations to act as a recruitment tool and showcase the college’s atmosphere
  5. Provide photographic coverage of campus events and functions
  6. Maintain appropriate documentation on requests, participation, and services delivered
  7. Help guide the client to find the best solution that fits his or her needs
  8. Assist with web graphics and content updates using the web content management system as needed
  9. Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to coordinate multi-faceted photo and video productions
  • Knowledge of creative software applications relating to graphic design, photography and videography, such as Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • Knowledge of DSLRs and mirrorless cameras, audio and lighting equipment (strobes, flash, triggers, etc.) for photography and video
  • Strong attention to accuracy and detail
  • Excellent knowledge of general office and software applications
  • Ability to prepare and analyze reports
  • Possesses excellent organizational skills
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities with the ability to prioritize duties
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of customer service


PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; or recurring lifting of moderately heavy items. The work may require specific, but common, physical characteristics and abilities, such as above average agility and dexterity.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:

  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED and at least 5 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience


Salary

Hourly Pay Rate is$17.16.
