Position Summary:

The School of Music at the University of Wisconsin-Madison invites applications for a full-time Voice Instructor to begin August 2021.

The Mead Witter School of Music, located within the College of Letters & Science, serves over 300 majors at the undergraduate and graduate levels, offering the B.A., B.S., B.M., M.A., M.M., D.M.A. and Ph.D. degrees; it also serves hundreds of non-majors through multiple ensembles and course offerings. Along with the university at large, the Mead Witter School of Music is committed to building a diverse, collegial, and inclusive community for faculty, staff, and students, offering educational, scholarly and performance opportunities, and embodying through its teaching and research the aims of the Wisconsin Idea. The School seeks candidates who identify with groups currently underrepresented within Schools of Music and academe at large. In September 2019, the Hamel Music Center, a state-of-the-art facility designed as a gateway for arts on campus, opened its doors to the campus and general public. This new space includes the Mead Witter Foundation Concert Hall, the Collins Recital Hall, the Lee/Kaufmann Rehearsal Hall, and a two-story lobby for use by students, faculty, and staff, contributing to the Schools on-going engagement with audiences on and off campus.

The successful candidate will recruit, teach and mentor a full studio of undergraduate and graduate voice students and undertake appropriate duties as assigned by the director. The person in this role will contribute to the performance life of the school and will be expected to help recruit and teach a diverse student body of undergraduate and graduate students.
