Job Description:



UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking an intermediate-level fiscal assistant to join the UFIT Business Center. This position serves units within UFIT by providing support in monitoring, processing, reviewing, and approving transactional activities relating to commitment accounting and fiscal processes.

Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:

  • Process analysis and improvement
  • Account reconciliation
  • Travel and expense processing
  • Vendor account management


The UF Information Technology division is comprised of seven departments reporting to the Vice President & Chief Information Officer. The departments reporting directly to the VP & CIO are: Academic Technology, Research Computing, Infrastructure & Communications Technology, Enterprise Systems, Information Security Office, and the UFIT Business Center. Expected Salary:



$19.15 per hour. In addition, the University of Florida offers a very competitive benefits package.



Minimum Requirements:



High school diploma or equivalent and three years of general accounts transaction experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for required experience.



Preferred Qualifications:



The ideal candidate will be an experienced fiscal and accounting assistant with a proven track record of the following:

  • Excellent customer service
  • Compliance with federal, state and University policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Effective communication skills


To be successful in this position, the applicants must be comfortable:

  • Researching, analyzing, and resolving general account transaction problems
  • Processing purchasing requisitions
  • Assisting with annual budget preparation and year-end closeout
  • Using electronic financial systems, such as PeopleSoft
