Job Description:

The Benefits Processing Specialist position is a full-time career service position. The Benefits Processing Specialist will assist the Benefits Administrator with daily workload of orientation, open enrollments, benefit programs, and other offerings; assist with the preparation of materials, set up, and initial introduction of employee benefits to newly hired employees; and stay abreast of new rules or changes that affect the College-provided benefits. The Benefits Processing Specialist will assist with benefit enrollments and data verification or input of benefit choices; assist with health/wellness fairs, benefit vendor fairs and campus visits; and provide employees information pertaining to benefit and/or retirement. Additionally, the successful candidate will assist with new employee benefit choices and ongoing changes to employees’ records in the Workday system or on the website of certain benefit companies; ensure proper documentation is received to make changes, and processes the transactions to final step of recordkeeping; and assist employees with general needs. This position reports to the Benefits Administrator.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate’s degree and two years’ experience in human resources; or graduation from high school or GED equivalency and four years’ full-time experience working with employee benefits. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.

Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.

ANNUAL SALARY: $29,401.65 ($15.02/hour)
