Ca’ Foscari is looking for a researcher in the area of History of Science and Technology, capable of inspiring students to become game-changers in their own fields and to make a genuine difference in the world.

The assistant professor will carry out research aimed at analysing history of early-modern geology, its connection with cosmology and cosmography, and the function of natural knowledge for the transformation of the world, especially in relation to geo-environmental management and hydroengineering.

The selected candidate will conduct the research in Venice. He will collaborate with fellow team members of the projects ERC EarlyModernCosmology (GA 725883) and FARE EarlyGeoPraxis (ID R184WNSTWH) toward the projects goals, and develop an original, independent and integrated research project within the ERC and FARE projects.

He will be teaching ‘History of science’ in the BA, MA and doctoral degrees

This position is at the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Heritage, whose aim is to provide students with the knowledge to develop those interpretive, critical, analytical and communication skills that are necessary to understand and navigate the complexities of life in the 21st century. The Department fosters a positive and respectful environment for faculty and students, where diversity is embraced and new ideas are encouraged.
