About the Opportunity:
The Bouve College of Health Sciences seeks an Associate Director of Data Analytics to join their team in the Office of the Dean!

Bouve College of Health Sciences is comprised of four preeminent schools of study encompassing approximately 1,000 faculty and staff, 5,000 students, and 40,000 alumni.

Please note: The primary work location for this position is the Boston MA Northeastern University Campus Location. Until our full return to campus, which is still to-be-determined, this interview process will be conducted remotely- including virtual interviews, remote onboarding and remote work. The remote nature of this position is subject to change in the future and is only temporary. Local, on-campus work will be required once the College and this role return to an operational status that supports it.

Responsibilities:
The Associate Director of Data Analytics will report to the Associate Dean of Administration and Finance, work closely with the College Dean, Associate Deans, Directors of core functions and unit leaders (Department Chairs and School Leaders) at Bouve College of Health Sciences to ensure all data operational needs (managing, standardizing, reporting, forecasting, decision-making, etc.) are accurate, timely, and efficiently delivered. The Associate Director will work to build, enhance and maintain an analytic infrastructure for data management and analysis. The Associate Director will manage the division's reporting environment and work closely with University Decision Support and Data Administration to ensure accurate reporting of College data aligns with University data. The Associate Director will serve as the College's liaison and representative across the University for all data-related matters, committees and activities related to data reporting, analysis and standards. This role is expected to lead the efforts to provide business analytics, predictive trend analysis, historical data management and reporting to support College activities, growth and innovation.. The data projects and products managed and delivered by the Associate Director will be used in support of executive decisions relating to the overall mission and goals of the College. Complex projects may involve but are not limited to the development of quantitative analysis, predictive model development, and detail-oriented data visualization and communication to enable accurate interpretation of information so that decisions are supported in a timely manner. Many projects will require this individual to use creative insights and to collaborate with experts across the University to achieve effective outcomes. Expertise is expected in a broad set of subject areas including budget and finance (revenue and expenditure analysis, budget projections, space analysis, predictive model development, etc.), academic and student affairs (admissions, retention, graduation, scholarships, course enrollments, course and student credit analysis, course demands, class size analysis, grade analysis, teaching evaluation analysis, co-op trend analysis, clinical placements forecasting and analysis, accreditation needs, etc.), research (principal investigator productivity analysis, grant portfolio analysis, grant trend analysis, PhD funding analysis and forecasting, etc.), faculty affairs (faculty load analysis, part-time faculty reporting and analysis, faculty to student ratios, etc.), and staff data reporting needs. Analysis often includes ad hoc reporting that supports urgent as well as mid/long-term informational needs. In addition, the role of liaison is supported by involvement in college-wide committees and technical user-groups as well as developing university-wide relationships to facilitate sharing of knowledge and best practices back to the College.

The Associate Director will work across the College to identify and support business requirements for technological enhancements as well as any analytical systems/databases needs by the College. This will include software such as Salesforce, E-Value and other software deployed to manage data at the College.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required, master's degree strongly preferred; with a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in business data management and/or data systems analysis working in a higher education environment. Competency is expected in data analysis, data visualization, and the creation of executive level data reports and presentations. Must be able to manage the complete life-cycle of the project and delivery with accuracy and in a timely manner. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. Must be an independent, self-starter who is able to efficiently manage several projects at a given time, capable of interacting with executive leadership and able to maintain a diplomatic manner in sensitive situations and confidential matters. Must also be capable of developing consensus with regards to project goals and committee interactions. Awareness of FERPA regulations is required. Prior experience with Salesforce, Tableau, ARGOS, Banner, SharePoint and COGNOS is preferred.
