Assistant Professor of Corporate Communication

Penn State Abington invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Corporate Communication (tenure track, 36 weeks), to begin August 2021 or as negotiated. Responsibilities include the following:
  • Teach three courses (9 credits) each semester using traditional, hybrid, and/or fully online delivery modes
  • Pursue an active research program leading to peer-reviewed publications
  • Advise and provide career guidance to students
  • Participate in program, campus, university, and community service activities.


The person hired for this position will join a well-established, four-year degree program serving approximately 80-100 declared majors. The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. or ABD status in Communication or closely allied area with a focus on corporate communication, strategic communication, or organizational communication. Organizational scholars working at the intersection of health communication, persuasion and advocacy, mediated communication, conflict management, public relations, or critical race theory will be well positioned to apply. Evidence of potential in research and publication is expected. An ideal candidate will have applied experience in the area of strategic communication, a reputation as a collaborative colleague, and a strong record of working effectively with students from diverse backgrounds, including those with varying levels of academic preparation. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to innovative, engaging, and student-centered learning and teaching that is responsive to the needs of diverse students in a major metropolitan area.

This appointment is contingent on the successful completion of standard background checks.
