The University of Washington Department of Bioengineering Invites Applications for a Tenure-Track Position in Bioengineering 

 

The Department of Bioengineering in the College of Engineering and School of Medicine at the University of Washington (UW) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the level of assistant professor. This position is on a 9-month service period with an anticipated start date of September 16, 2021. 

  

UW Bioengineering recently made a strategic investment to become nationally recognized in the field of Neuro-engineering. This call for applications is to build on that strength. We are specifically looking for a candidate to develop a stem cell based platform development to study auditory or olfactory neuronal systems in vitro and to develop organ on a chip technologies. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an internationally recognized research program, to participate in the teaching and service missions of the department, and to contribute to efforts in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the campus climate for students, faculty, and staff.  They will also be expected to follow UW’s strong tradition of collaboration and translation across disciplinary boundaries. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service in a diverse and inclusive environment.

Qualifications 

The minimum qualifications are PhD or MD degree (or other foreign equivalent) at the time of hire and evidence of excellence, originality and productivity in research.
