Academic Progression and Clinical Coordinator
The Nursing Academic Progression and Clinical Coordinator (APCC) is a dual focus role. Clinical coordination responsibilities include arranging clinical experiences which meet the various learning needs of students. The coordinator collaborates with division leadership and course coordinators to determine appropriate experiences, and with clinical agencies to procure and maintain clinical placement sites. Academic progression responsibilities include managing all aspects of the Associate to Bachelor (ATB) programs including the ATB website, university partnerships, students, and grant oversight. The APCC must work closely with leadership from both HCC and our university partners to monitor progress in order to meet or exceed grant goals.
Duties include, but are not limited to, researching and recommending appropriate agencies for clinical assignments and practicum experiences; collaborating with program leadership to hire, onboard, supervise, and evaluate clinical faculty; maintaining all student requirements for clinical facilities; working with current university partners to increase seamless academic progress for nursing students, including developing new ATB opportunities; working with partners to execute their respective portions of ATB curriculum; meeting with and advising ATB students and prospective students; maintaining web pages educate nursing students about academic progression opportunities at HCC.
The position is a five-year, grant-supported position ending June 30, 2025; extension of the assignment is dependent on funding. The exempt, grant-funded, professional staff position is approximately 50% of time spent on clinical and 50% on ATB.
A masters degree in nursing is required; however, specific work experience or educational coursework that includes clinical nursing leadership or education may be considered.
One year up to three years of related experience is required, including, but not limited to student programming and support experience, including advising and monitoring student academic progression; and experience coordinating clinical experiences, including procuring placement sites.
Applicants must have two years of medical surgical nursing experience.
Other requirements include demonstrated ability to maintain tools and systems for collecting and reporting baseline data; proficiency in a Windows-based computer environment; strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills; and the ability to collaborate with program leadership to hire and supervise clinical faculty.
Preference will be given to candidates who possess budget management, grant-funded program administration, and/or supervisory experience.
