Under general supervision is responsible for in vitro and in vivo ADME studies in the Research
Infrastructure Core ( RIC ) of the Center for Biomedical and Minority Health Research ( CBMHR ). S/he
will responsible for biopharmaceutical and metabolic studies including drug absorption using the Caco-2
cell culture model, intestinal perfusion model, drug metabolism using enzyme-based metabolic reactions,
drug elimination and distribution using cell and animal models. Generally, provides direct supports on the
related studies to the RIC users.

Essential Duties Summary

• Conducts drug absorption using cells and animal models (e.g., rats, mice) in laboratory activities including study design, execution of various experiments, data collection, data interpretation, laboratory supplies, and daily operations of the lab.
• Conducts drug metabolism studies using enzymes reactions. Conduct drug bio-distribution and elimination studies using cells and animal models (e.g., mice and rats) in laboratory activities including study design, execution of various experiments, data collection, data interpretation, laboratory supplies, and daily operations of the lab.
• Coordinates and conducts LC-MS/MS method development, optimization, and validation process for drug analysis.
• Maintains RIC instruments, keeps sign-in log and contact technician when necessary.
• Assists PIs in progress report of various projects and progress reports. Needs to apply for individual grants and write publication.

Hiring Range $41,976.00 - $52,470.00 Education

PhD degree in pharmaceutics or related field.

Required Licensing/Certification

None required.
