Position Summary:

The selected candidate will support Center for Dairy Research (CDR) efforts in adding value to the dairy industry through its activities in the beverage industry. The primary activities will be centered around the CDR's new beverage innovation capabilities located in our new facilities on campus. This also includes, but not limited to, working with entrepreneurs, existing dairy manufacturers, equipment/ingredient/packaging/sanitation suppliers, regulatory agencies, retailers, and any other dairy related fields.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree in Dairy, Food Engineering, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Three plus years of food & beverage industry experience is required, with expertise in the set-up and operation of dairy processing equipment - preferably in the beverage/fluid dairy industry.

Knowledge of dairy chemistry and technology, food engineering, thermal processing, and process controls/automation is a plus / highly desirable.

The successful candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, have excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
Candidates will have experience in managing development projects for clients in the food and beverage industry.

Familiarity with the PMO (pasteurized milk ordinance). Should have, or will be required within six months to obtain, a Wisconsin Pasteurizer operator's license. Should be, or will be required within six months to obtain, a process authority for low acid aseptic foods as defined by FDA regulations.
