Job Summary

JCCC is searching for a Spanish Tutor for our Language Resource Center. The Spanish Tutor will tutor students enrolled in JCCC Spanish classes, embedded in Spanish classes, online, and in the LRC. The Spanish Tutor will visit JCCC Spanish classes to announce/advertise tutoring services, and to assist as needed. The Spanish Tutor will also assist in the Language Resource Center as needed and maintain cleanliness and organization of materials in tutoring area.

Required Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent
Minimum completion of advanced skills in Spanish or equivalent
Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish
Ability to work independently but take direction as needed
Ability to learn and utilize effective tutoring techniques following best practices
Native-like speaker proficiency
Ability to help with computer programs
Ability to listen with understanding and patience
Ability to explain concepts in Spanish, both orally and in written form in a one to one or small group setting
Ability to tutor online

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Additional credit hours in Spanish beyond intermediate skills
Native Spanish speaker
Prior tutoring experience
