Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred. Five years experience in a related field. Experience in Higher Education is desirable. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of education.

Nature & Purpose of Position

Plan, organize, and direct the day to day operations of the College of Education to include functions related to human resource management, business operations, reporting, planning, and strategic enrollment management, program evaluation and strategic planning. Facilitate and foster collaboration and growth within the College of Education by serving as key strategy office between institutional leaders.

Primary Responsibilities

Supports professional and leadership development within the College of Education ( COE ). Creates programs as needed. Directs human resource management, including review of internal positions, reclassification requests, and market adjustment/needs. Performs complex and highly advanced managerial work providing direction and guidance in strategic operations and planning in the college. Ensures internal goals are alligned with higher level strategy and plans. Oversees day to day operations of the college. Develops internal teams to ensure efficient operations. Maintains COE financial records as required by university policies. Develops and uses processes and models for data analytics related to strategic enrollment projections and trends. Establishes strategic goals and objectives for the college, particularly related to finance, operational effectiveness, and enrollment management. Serves as facilities liaison for Teacher Education Center ( TEC ) and leads COE building committee. Collaborates with university budget office and Dean to develop and provide financial plans and reports for college activities, including expenditure reports and forecasts. Prepares special financial analyses and reports. Produces and complies reports and summarizes information from a variety of sources for college leadership decision-making. Supervises payroll action and responsibilities for the college. Monitors course size and full-time equivalency ( FTE ) management. Interprets, implements, and communicates university policies and assists college leadership to develop, implement and support college and unit-level processes and procedures. Advises Department Chairs and departmental staff on best financial practices. Examines various accounting documents to verify conformance to policies, procedures, and accounting standards. Prepares budgets for new and existing departments/divisions for the college. Identifies and resolves complicated accounting problems. Tracks faculty effort/workload commitments during academic year. Monitors faculty promotion, tenure, and evaluation efforts and provides guidance to departments/divisions on deadlines and university policies. Processes and monitors internal and external funding awards. Reviews grant project statements each semester. Liaisons with department/division for grant project funding. Produces and supports organization, structure, and workflow flowcharts and monitors annual updates. Serves on committees as requested. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Provides leadership and oversight. Must exhibit a high level of professionalism and maturity, executive ability, and a keen understanding of protocol. Ability to organize work effectively and prioritizes objectives. Ability to exercise discretion, excellent reasoning, and independent judgment. Assists in the development of policies and operational procedures for the overall department. Skilled in directing multiple tasks, setting priorities, and organizing operations. Asset and fiscal resources management skills preferred. Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with administration, faculty, staff, and the public. Strong communication skills, both orally and written. Requires critical judgment for the department, in which very serious consequences on decision-making can occur. Interprets and applies complex directives, policies, regulations, statues, and procedures, and/or written guidelines for a department or major work group. Ability to supervise business functions.

This position may be designated as a Campus Security Authority ( CSA ).
