Job Description Summary
The Department of Special Education, Rehabilitation and Counseling in the College of Education at Auburn University is seeking to fill a tenure-track faculty position in Counseling Psychology at the Assistant Professor level. The individual will serve as a member of the Counseling Psychology faculty. The program is accredited by the American Psychological Association. The faculty member will also contribute to Counselor Education programs or undergraduate minor in Counseling in the department. The candidate will hold a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Counseling Psychology from an APA -accredited institution. Area of research focus is open.
Minimum Qualifications
(1) earned doctorate by August 16, 2021 in Counseling Psychology from an APA -accredited program; (2) license eligible as a psychologist in the state of Alabama; (3) evidence of ability to establish and maintain a record of high quality research and scholarship; (4) evidence of ability to teach graduate level courses in Counseling Psychology; and (5) evidence of ability to contribute to the Counseling Psychology program’s social justice competency area. The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements in the U.S. at the time appointment is scheduled to begin and continue to work legally for the proposed term of employment.
Desired Qualifications
(1) ability to secure external funding and strong track record of research and publication (emphasis is open); (2) prior experience related to teaching graduate-level courses in counseling psychology; (3) ability to contribute to related Department programs; (4) ability to contribute to the university’s outreach mission.
