Purpose of Position
The purpose of this position is to support Northern Kentucky University’s regional economic development strategy through engagement with community partners (corporate, nonprofit and public sector) to develop partnerships that create value for both Northern Kentucky University and the partner. Along with the AVP of Economic Engagement & Government Relations, this position will serve as the front door for the University with the regional business community
Primary Responsibilities
Work with the AVP, Economic Engagement & Government Relations, University leadership and external partners to identify, develop and maximize partnership opportunities in community and economic development that support the University’s strategic plan.
Research and identify potential partners and cultivate relationships to engage them with university.
Build strong relationships with academic departments and administrative leaders, program directors and staff, and development staff; develop a working knowledge of institutional programs and priorities
Create revenue opportunities for the University through community partnerships via increased enrollment, executive education and corporate training, sponsorships, direct contributions, and on-campus investment
Work with Academic Affairs to develop, grow, and implement efforts to meet regional workforce needs by offering opportunities for individuals to gain new and relevant competencies, including facilitating discussions regarding the development of new course offerings and trainings, credit for prior learning and experience, and microcredentials.
Participate on various community task forces and committees in support of partnership development.
Track and report all outreach activity to shared database (Raiser’s Edge)
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree plus five years of work-related experience in corporate partnerships, community or economic development.

- Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to think strategically, work independently and push projects to completion.
- A commitment to regional economic growth and engagement.
