Baptist University. Our work informs cutting-edge debates on human
groups, individuals, and their environments by integrating
disciplinary and professional approaches. The Faculty is looking
for applicants who show excellence in research and teaching for the
following position.
Lecturer II in Global and China Studies
(PR0249/20-21)
Global and China Studies is a newly developed undergraduate
programme which emphasises the integration of interdisciplinary
curriculum of China and global studies, cross-cultural experiential
learning and research skill training for students to explore a
changing China in the evolving world order. The programme offers a
vibrant and collegial academic environment for research and
teaching.
The Programme is recruiting a Lecturer II. The appointee is
expected to contribute to teaching in one or more of the following
areas: (i) political economy of global China; (ii) China’s foreign
relations; (iii) China’s environment and social development issues;
and (iv) Chinese society and cultural heritage. The appointee will
teach courses and supervise students’ experiential learning in
China and overseas, plus additional administrative duties and
services in the department and faculty. Other duties include: (i)
development of teaching and learning activities; (ii) supervision
of undergraduate students’ independent research projects; and (iii)
sharing some student-related administrative work. He/She will use
English as the medium of instruction. Depending on one’s discipline
and expertise, the appointee will be affiliated to a department of
the Faculty of Social Sciences.
Requirements:
Applicants should possess a relevant PhD degree in political
science, sociology, international relations or a related
discipline, and have related hybrid or online teaching experience
in higher education.
Initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two
to three years commencing September 2021. Re-appointment thereafter
will be subject to mutual agreement.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and
experience.
