Position Summary:
The Foundation Accountant is responsible for contributing to the team effort to accept, manage, and distribute private support for the University of Idaho. The primary roles as a professional accountant of the Foundation are accounting and finance functions, developing/implementing system efficiencies, and gift processing. Specific duties include the preparation of financial statements and reports, tax returns, vouchers, journal entries, monthly reconciliations, research, account analysis, fund accounting, portfolio reporting, gift processing, creating and implementing new processes in the accounting function, and fully utilizing new systems. This position reports to the Director of Finance and also supports the Assistant Director of Finance and works with their guidance.


Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Proficiency with spreadsheet software
• Knowledge of accounting practices and application of standards to interpret and analyze laws/regulations


Preferred Qualifications:
• Masters Degree in Accounting or Minor/other degree in IT or Data Analytics
• Accounting experience
• University or Foundation experience
