Assistant Professor of History
The Department of History and Political Science at Millikin University seeks applicants for a tenure-track position in World History, area of specialization and period open, at the Assistant Professor level beginning in Fall 2021. The department seeks dedicated a teacher able to teach the World History survey courses and regional histories (Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America). Additionally, the ability and willingness to teach historiography and/or geography are desirable.
A Ph.D. in history conferred before August 2021 is required for a tenure-track position. This position carries a full-time teaching load of 12 credit hours per semester. There are also opportunities to develop travel courses should applicants be interested in such course delivery methods. The successful applicant must maintain a program of active scholarship and supervise research projects by undergraduate students. Other duties include advising students and university service.
