An expanding research data center needs a Data Systems Professional to help design, create, maintain and administer its data systems and websites, assist in handling a diverse array of information streams, while generating a wide range of data deliverables. Will help implement and administer data mining and data warehousing programs. These feed the production of a wide-range of online information products which are continually updated to keep these resources current. Ideal position for individual who has a genuine love for expanding their practical experience with existing and new information technologies, while seeing his/her work make a concrete impact on public access of previously inaccessible data on what government is currently doing


Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field and minimum of 4-6 years of experience.

Job Specific Qualifications

Must have analytical thinking, ability to concentrate on tasks by juggling multiple responsibilities.

Needs specialized expertise and technical training in the following areas: Linux System administration knowledge, but also some Windows, Unix scripting experience and familiarity with working in a Unix command line environment a must.

Proficiency in programming languages, including Perl, Python, PHP and JavaScript. Proficiency in SAS a plus. In depth knowledge of relational databases, including MySQL.

Knowledge of either Oracle or NoSQL databases (Elasticsearch) are pluses. Some experience in web applications development and current web technologies, data warehousing, and information security, would all be pluses.


Help design, create, maintain and administer TRAC systems.

Efficiently process newly arriving data, and ensure that resulting online information products are accurate and pass validity checks.

Help implement and administer data mining and warehousing programs including those for information security/information assurance.

Facilitates bulk data transfers and helps manage and validate these processes.

Assist research faculty in their specialized work.
