Job Description

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Prescott, Arizona campus is hiring a Flight Supervisor/Airman Certification Representative (Part-Time: 20 hours per week ) to support the Flight Department Team. Embry-Riddle's Prescott Campus is respected worldwide for cutting-edge instruction and training for tomorrow’s aviation, aerospace, security and intelligence leaders. Prescott is a mile-high city and its climate reflects seasonable weather excellent for flying. Daytime averages are 80°F in the summer and 45°F in the winter. At 5,000 ft. above sea level, it boasts a mild climate, clean air, pristine wilderness areas, and nearby national forests. The university is a small, private, residential university in the mountains of Arizona with approximately 3,500 students. Staff/faculty/student interaction is highly valued and is a central theme of our campus. It is located 100 miles north of Phoenix and 120 miles south of the Grand Canyon.

This position will be responsible for assisting with the daily management and support of the Company's fleet and the operation. The Flight Supervisor will report directly to the Chair, Flight Department and requires the individual to reside in Prescott, AZ or outlying areas. Additionally, after one year of experience, occupant will qualify as Airman Certification Representative (ACR). Assist in management functions of Flight Department as assigned by Chair.

Perform Flight Supervisor duties to maintain currency in current flight procedures and operations:

  • Providing operations expertise to the Flight Chair and the Chief Instructor

  • Coordinating scheduled maintenance and the re-positioning of aircraft

  • Coordinating resources to achieve efficient operations at all times

  • Monitoring pilot qualifications and currencies to match the specific operation and regulatory requirements

  • Overseeing dispatch and the exchange of information between the pilot-in-command and the dispatcher for each flight

  • Coordinating aircraft diversions and recoveries

  • Oversee the distribution of revisions and other company materials/documentation

  • Initiate company emergency notification protocol

  • Ensure the safe and orderly process of flight operations

  • Provide advisory information regarding weather and operational considerations for in-flight decision-making, in accordance with the Embry Riddle Flight Operation Manual



Maintain ACR responsibility in support of the CoA Flight Department:

ACR is an individual representing ERAU Prescott Flight Program and is authorized to accept FAA applications for certificates and ratings from successful graduates of ERAU Prescott Part 141 and to issue temporary flight instructor certificates.

Perform systemic analysis of topics related to Flight Department and/or CoA as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities :

  • M entor, coach, and hire students for dispatch operations, with a concentration in streamlining the efficacy in safe operations, as well as, building the next generation of flight supervisors in fair and accepted practices.

  • Oversee the company shuttle service and ensure it is meeting the required movement of the students to and from campus.



Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree. Area of study: Aviation, Aeronautical Science, or related field.

  • FAA Certified Flight Instructor; Capable of Flight Supervisor duties; Maintain FAA certification as Designated Pilot Examiner—Administrative (ACR for ERAU).

  • Analytical skills, technical expertise with Microsoft operating systems, Access, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook/email, and Internet end-user applications. ​

  • Three to five years of related experience.
