Job Overview
The School of Education within the College of Education, Criminal
Justice, and Human Services (CECH) at the University of Cincinnati
invites applications for an Assistant Professor-Tenure Track
specializing in research, teaching and mentoring related to
advanced research methodologies in psychometrics in the context of
education and social science research. The Research Methods area
trains graduate students primarily through the Educational Studies
MA and PhD programs across multiple concentrations (Quantitative
and Mixed Methods Research Methodologies; Educational and Community
Based Action Research) and serves the University with a significant
range of Research Methods course offerings and through a wealth of
research and training collaborations.
Essential Functions
The prospective faculty member will have primary responsibilities
within the Research Methods area in the School of Education and is
expected to:
- Maintain an active research agenda and disseminate research results,
- Teach introductory and advanced graduate courses in research methods, psychometrics and statistics,
- Mentor graduate students and supervise student research, and
- Engage in university, professional, and program service, including participation in continuous program improvement and new program development, as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications
Must have all of the following prior to the effective date of
appointment - an earned doctorate in Quantitative Research Methods
or a related field; at least 4 lead-author, peer-reviewed
publications on psychometric methods and at least 2 additional
co-authored publications applying psychometric methods in
educational settings, to demonstrate evidence of scholarship; and
at least 2 academic years of experience teaching (as the instructor
of record or as a teaching assistant with classroom instruction
responsibilities) in research methods or statistics.
