The University of Lynchburg invites applications for a visiting (one-year) full-time, non-tenure track position in Religious Studies to begin August 2021. The successful candidate will have evidence of excellence in liberal arts teaching and will be dedicated to teaching a range of undergraduate Religious Studies courses. We seek a collaborative colleague with primary expertise in Religion and Culture and secondary ability to teach in one or more of the following fields: comparative religion, religious ethics, or medical humanities. ABD required and Ph.D. is preferred by time of appointment. The selected candidate will teach a 4-4 load.

Interested applicants must submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, evidence of excellence in teaching, a statement on their approach to inclusive curriculum and diversity in higher education, unofficial graduate transcripts, and names and contact information for three references to: Search Committee, Department of Religious Studies, c/o Julie Williams at Review of applications will begin March 1 and will continue until the position is filled. The search committee will conduct interviews via Google Meet with semi-finalists and will invite finalists to further interviews and a teaching demonstration via Google Meet.
