Job Responsibilities:

The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the area of Technical Project and Program Management. The position is located in the Department of Engineering Leadership and Program Management in The Citadel School of Engineering. Areas of interest include but are not limited to project/program management, systems engineering, industrial engineering, management science and operations research; with emphasis on development, management, and leadership of technical operations. Potential faculty must have the ability and desire to teach in in a Face-to-Face and online modality. The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, is a unique public institution with the mission of educating principled leaders through its Corps of Cadets and Graduate College. Located in historic Charleston, S.C., The Citadel offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in the humanities, business, mathematics, science, engineering and education. With an enrollment of more than 2300, the Corps of Cadets is the nation's largest military college program outside the service academies. All cadets are educated within a classic military system and about 30 percent of the graduating seniors earn military commissions. The remaining graduates attend graduate school or enter the job market. The Citadel Graduate College, which is noted for Citadel excellence in a civilian environment, serves residents of South Carolina's beautiful Lowcountry and includes our evening undergraduate engineering programs and a variety of evening graduate level engineering programs. Academic programs at the college are complemented by a strong commitment to service and emphatic support of an honor code that calls upon cadets and students to not lie, cheat or steal or tolerate those who do. Since its founding in 1842, The Citadel's emphasis on character as well as intellect has produced generations of graduates who have served their nation, their professions and their communities with distinction.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must have an earned PhD in an engineering, technical management, operations research, or related field. The successful candidate will have extensive industry or military experience and proven themselves successful in working collaboratively with others to produce quality results. The applicant must have strong potential for and commitment to student advising, supporting the development of student professional organizations, and continuous professional development in Project Management and Engineering Education. Professional registration in Engineering and/or Project Management, or potential for and strong commitment towards obtaining it, should be demonstrated. The applicant must be an effective communicator and be able to serve as a role model for students in the Corps of Cadets and to other students in our evening and graduate programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

Applicants with leadership experience are preferred.
