Position Summary:

The successful candidate will support Dr. Shah's research program, which is focused on improving the Emergency Department experience for older adults, particularly individuals with dementia. They will be actively engaged in cutting-edge, high-impact, emergency department and community-based studies funded by the NIH, foundations, and industry. Primary areas of responsibility involve the development and management of research studies, which includes clinical trials. Duties will include executing study protocols, monitoring study progress, reporting results, and data quality control. This position works closely with other research team members, stakeholders at University of Wisconsin and other institutions, and representatives from sponsor organizations.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Master's degree required, with course work in related healthcare or public health fields is required.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

2 years of research experience in related healthcare or public health fields is required. Experience with Institutional Review Board applications and grant submissions is desired. One year of supervisory experience is also desired. Prior experience being part of an academic clinical research group is preferred.

- Comfort working with research subjects in both acute care (emergency department) and community settings.

This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial Caregiver Check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and then every four years.
