Position Summary:
As a member of a team of HR professionals in the School of Education, this position will be responsible for managing daily
HR administrative activities and provides support to various School of Education departments/units and employees. This
position will have responsibilities for overall HR functions related to and including: payroll and benefits, security, background check processes, I-9 verification, recruitment and search processes, hiring and on-boarding, compensation and titling, and training and development. Under the general supervision and direction of the Assistant Director for Human Resources, this position is a HR generalist that serves as a resource for the School of Education.
The person in this position must have a collaborative, service oriented approach to facilitate and foster effective professional
working relationships across the school and university. They will need to understand and maintain confidentiality of sensitive
information with tact and discretion. Must be able to balance working autonomously and as a part of a team to contribute to the effective and efficient day-to-day service and to the greater School of Education goals and mission.

Bachelor's Degree required
Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:
* Minimum three years of experience working in human resource and/or related business
services, at UW preferred.
* Knowledge of policies and laws related to Human Resources; UW policies, procedures, and systems strongly preferred.
* Experience and knowledge managing human resource activities in a complex organization.
* Demonstrated experience and commitment to working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and part of a team.
* Experience with developing and sustaining collaborative work relationships.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Commitment to diversity, inclusion and engagement applied to areas of HR and customer service.
