Assistant Professor of Health Promotion

The College of Health Sciences at the University of Lynchburg invites applications for a tenure-track full-time position in the Health Promotion Department beginning July 1, 2021.  

The successful applicant must be willing to strive for teaching excellence, to experiment with new pedagogies, and collaborate with colleagues from diverse disciplines in support of the institution’s liberal arts mission.  An earned terminal academic degree (PhD, EdD, or equivalent) in Public Health, Health Promotion, Health Science, or similar health-related field is required with CHES/MCHES certification desired. Candidates nearing completion of a terminal degree (ABD status) will be considered if the degree can be conferred by mid-August of 2021.  The ability to teach in the areas of human disease, medical terminology, drugs and behavior management, and emergency preparedness planning and management are strongly desired. A strong research agenda, experience with grant writing, and evidence of community involvement are strongly desired. The selected candidate must successfully pass a background check that is satisfactory to the University.
