The Physics department at Syracuse University is soliciting applications for a
postdoctoral research associate who will work in the application of quantum information science to high energy physics in the group of Prof. Simon Catterall. The candidate should have a recent Ph.D. in
theoretical high energy physics.
The initial appointment is for one year with
the possibility for renewal. Qualified candidates
should submit their curriculum vitae, a list of publications, a short description
of their qualifications, and the e-mail addresses/phone numbers of three
references to the online position posting. Questions and inquiries can be
directed to Simon Catterall (smcatter@syr.edu).
The appointment will begin Fall 2021
Qualifications
PhD in Physics or a related field.
Job Specific Qualifications
Desirable experience should be in theoretical high energy physics and its connection to aspects of quantum information science.
Responsibilities
Fundamental research as well as advising graduate students in
the theoretical particle physics group.
