Job Description

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Prescott, Arizona campus is hiring a Library Technologies Associate to support the Hazy Library and Learning Center Team. Embry-Riddle's Prescott Campus is respected worldwide for cutting-edge instruction and training for tomorrow’s aviation, aerospace, security and intelligence leaders. Prescott is a mile-high city and its climate reflects seasonable weather excellent for flying. Daytime averages are 80°F in the summer and 45°F in the winter. At 5,000 ft. above sea level, it boasts a mild climate, clean air, pristine wilderness areas, and nearby national forests. The university is a small, private, residential university in the mountains of Arizona with approximately 3,500 students. Staff/faculty/student interaction is highly valued and is a central theme of our campus. It is located 100 miles north of Phoenix and 120 miles south of the Grand Canyon.

Reporting to the Associate Director for Library Technologies and Information Resources, this position provides student-centered learning support and expertise through the integration of library services, information resources and technologies, and works closely with the library staff to promote academic success.

Technical Support

• Provides technical support for the implementation and maintenance of library technology solutions to the integrated library system, interlibrary loan systems, databases, digital learning initiatives, and laptop check out program.
  
  
• Administers and maintains the LibCal room scheduling calendar.
  
  
• Works with Library staff, Information Technology, Yavapai Library Network, and outside vendors to maintain operability of computers, printers, and Library software.
  
  
• Works with integrated library system to create and maintain inventory control of assets.
  
  

Customer Assistance

• Provides direct assistance to clientele with technology support, information and research needs, and access to and circulation of materials and equipment.
  
  
• As a Library team member, provides assistance at service desks and serves as a backup for Interlibrary Loan service, acquisitions and serials as needed.
  
  

Website Development and Maintenance

• Develops and maintains Hazy Library website. Edits and publishes web content, updates, and banners.
  
  
• Creates video and graphics for library website development, social media, and video platforms.
  
  

Outreach and Engagement

• Serves as a member of the Library Marketing Committee, promoting library services and resources, outreach programs and special projects through the library’s website and marketing initiatives. Manages the library’s social media platforms and creates and posts content.
  
  

Work Hours

Regular work schedule is Monday-Friday 7am – 4pm or 8am – 5pm during fall and spring semesters. Work schedule varies during summer semester and campus breaks.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or 18+ months experience in technology or library related fields.
  
  
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Internet end-user applications.
  
  
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  
  
• Ability to work independently.
  
  
• Ability to troubleshoot computer hardware and software problems and applications.
  
  
• Ability to provide an exceptional customer experience.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of library operations.
  
  
• Knowledge of Symphony (SirsiDynix) or other integrated library system.
  
  
• Knowledge of HTML/CSS web languages.
  
  
• Familiarity with Mac OS.
