This full-time 9 month faculty position may require teaching in any of the Mathematics classes at Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) offered on any campus as needed. The faculty member would also assist with math curriculum and program development. Typical loads for full time faculty at LFCC are normally 15 credit hours per semester with 10 office hours required each week. Faculty members are also required to collaborate with others (full and part-time instructors) to ensure teaching uniformity and continuity of material and expectations. Collateral duties include advising, recruiting, and service on college committees. Faculty members are srequired to work to help further the goals of the Mathematics department/institution. Teaching schedules may include day and evening, weekend, on and off-campus, compressed video, and web delivery. Faculty members will also be required to use state-of-the-art classroom teaching technologies. While this position is primarily assigned to the Middletown Campus of LFCC, faculty may be required to teach at either campus, as needed by the college. Faculty members are required to work to help further the goals of LFCC and programs and support policies and procedures dictated by the Virginia Community College System. The successful candidate will also be required to work on developing curriculum for new and existing programs.
LFCC’s is seeking an engaged, creative instructor. Candidates must have academic background and or experience in the math field and teaching experience is desired, preferably at the community college. Although the instructor may be teaching classes at Middletown, the ideal candidate would also have experience and/or a willingness to teach online and hybrid courses at any location.
Faculty Positions: The minimum salary for the position is $43,776.00 per year, however, actual starting salary will commensurate with education and/or experience. The position is a 9 month faculty role and as such is eligible for the benefits package offered by the Commonwealth of Virginia for state agencies and the Virginia Community College System. Lord Fairfax Community College, located in the Northern Shenandoah Valley is accepting applications for adjunct, part-time faculty (day, evening and weekend) positions for Adjunct Faculty. Positions are appointed on a course-by-course, semester basis as needed. Responsibilities include teaching college level courses, which may include distance learning on and off campus courses during the day, evening and weekends.
